100 percent funding of parkland expansion and multi-purpose outdoor-related recreation development.

Additional Requirements and Information

The amount of REAP grant money available to a city in any one year depends on its population. The population categories and respective grant amount ceilings are shown below:

Selection criteria includes, but is not limited to:

Relationship to state, local and regional plans
Quality of site and/or project
Direct recreation benefits
Public benefits served
Local support
Quality of public communications plan

These funds are not available for single or multipurpose athletic fields, baseball or softball diamonds, tennis courts, golf courses and other organized sport facilities. Swimming pools and playground equipment are also ineligible.

Applicants are highly encouraged to attend the application review session that will take place in mid-September to answer any questions from the selection committee.
