ReLeaf Volunteer

Roll Up Your Sleeves

From early April through the end of October, our team is out planting and watering hundreds of trees all across Cedar Rapids. Our goal to replant the City’s tree canopy following the 2020 derecho is a big undertaking, and we need your help!

Volunteering with Trees Forever is the perfect way to get your hands dirty while caring for and building your community forest! Whether you are looking to plant trees, care for forests and native prairie, or help out at an event – you can make a positive impact!

What Does Volunteering with Trees Forever Look Like?

Spring & Fall Volunteering

At Trees Forever, the spring and fall seasons mean tree planting, and lots of it. During these seasons, we are looking for individuals and groups to assist with tree planting and maintenance efforts around the City. These hands-on opportunities are a great way to get outside and get to know more about the community while also helping make it a better place to live.

Opportunities to volunteer at Trees Forever events and support our administrative work are also available during the spring and fall seasons.

Summer Volunteering

In the summertime, the Trees Forever team shifts their focus from planting trees to watering trees. During the summer, we are looking for individuals and groups to assist with tree watering efforts around the City. It’s fun! It’s free! It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors and get to know Cedar Rapids.

Opportunities to volunteer at Trees Forever events and support our administrative work are also available during the summer.
