Funding provided for Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management (IRVM) related activities.

The below are examples of items typically funded:

Native plant materials
Planting and establishment materials
Prescribed fired equipment/PPE
Spraying equipment
Brush control equipment
GPS/GIS equipment
Seeding equipment (not tractors or trucks)
Harvesting equipment (not tractors or trucks)
Educational and informational materials pertaining to IRVM

Additional Requirements and Information

Proposed projects must be located on city, county or state right-of-way or on public land immediately adjacent to the right-of-way.

An approved IRVM plan for the city or county involved with a proposed project must be on file with the DOT’s Roadside Coordinator’s office. Exceptions may be made for demonstration and educational plantings.

A cash or in-kind matching contribution is required for all projects, with the exception of research projects and special staff training for education.

For projects requiring a cash or in-kind matching contribution: LRTF funds may be granted up to a maximum of 80% of the total allowable project cost, or up to the maximum allowable amount of the grant, whichever is less.

Maximum funding amounts vary based on project type.

This is a reimbursement program.

Eligible Applicants

– Cities: with IRVM plans on file with the Living Roadway Trust Fund (LRTF)
– Counties: with IRVM plans on file with the Living Roadway Trust Fund State agencies
– Individuals: must have written support from the agency responsible for maintaining the right-of- way in which the project is proposed
– State Agencies: with IRVM plans on file with the Living Roadway Trust Fund
