Build with Bags Grant
Funding provided to purchase park benches, picnic tables, trash cans and other outdoor furniture or equipment built from recycled plastic grocery bags.
Eligible Project Criteria
The items purchased must be made of recycled high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, which is the base material for making plastic shopping bags.
To be eligible for the program, the recycled content plastic furniture and equipment to be purchased must be used at a park or school.
Additional Requirements and Information
A maximum grant of $2,000 is available.
Each entity applying for a grant is limited to one application or project per year.
Grant recipients are encouraged to work with Iowa’s own Plastic Recycling of Iowa Falls.
This is a reimbursement program.
Grant recipients are required to have a marketing or public relations plan for maximizing public awareness of the project.

Eligible Applicants
Any government entity or any organization (i.e. service clubs, non-profit organizations) within Iowa that purchase the items for a park or school.
