Iowa’s Roadside Potential
Trees, native forbs and grasses, and other perennials planted along roadsides provide immense environmental impact and are an excellent tool for counties and cities to improve water quality, provide wildlife habitat, and manage or enhance our landscape.
Roadside Plans with Trees Forever
Trees Forever is your partner to help communities complete a roadside plan that makes your town eligible for annual grant funding through the Living Roadway Trust Fund (LRTF). We have worked with towns as small as population 76 to midsize cities up to 10,000 residents.
The Living Roadway Trust Fund (LRTF) supports integrated roadside vegetation management programs and educates the public on the benefits, use, and care of native plants. In a nutshell, LRTF provides resources, recommendations, and assistance to counties and towns to better manage their roadsides.
