Make a Difference in Your Neighborhood!
ReLeaf Cedar Rapids is a public-private partnership between the City of Cedar Rapids and Trees Forever created to guide the City, non-profit organizations, institutions, and private landowners in replanting the urban canopy in Cedar Rapids following the August 2020 derecho.
Nearly 670,000 trees were damaged or destroyed in Cedar Rapids during the derecho. With your help, we can rebuild and make our City greener and more beautiful than ever! Trees are critical green infrastructure in cities—they improve public health, reduce urban heat islands, and provide vital habitat for wildlife. Plus, they make our neighborhoods more enjoyable and livable. But we can’t do it alone; we need passionate volunteers like YOU to make a real impact.
There are plenty of ways to get involved and make a difference! Whether you’re planting trees in your neighborhood, assisting with watering efforts, attending a lunch & learn to educate yourself, or helping out at one of our events, your time and energy will help our community thrive. Ready to roll up your sleeves and help replant and care for our urban tree canopy? Fill out the interest form below today, and let’s grow together—one tree at a time!
