Eastern Iowa Agroforestry Field Day

The Iowa Nut Growers Association Hazelnut Test Plot near Marion contains more than a dozen experimental hazelnut varieties being evaluated for commercial production, breeding efforts, and eventual release to growers. Established in 2018, the site has plant material from breeding programs in Canada, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and more. Join landowner Dell Lawrence and Trees Forever Field Coordinator Jeff Jensen for a tour and discussion about agroforestry, water quality, and the Iowa Hazelnut Project.
Location:
Test plot is ¼ mile south of the intersection of Oxley Rd and Marion Airport Rd just outside of Marion Iowa.
