He started in the urban forestry world with Casey Trees as a GIS Specialist who took interest in managing i-Tree projects including UFORE/i-Tree Eco studies. He thought\, after that: “Getting permission to visit all of these DC field plots is hard; how much of urban forest inventory can be done from the air?” This took him to UC Santa Barbara to complete a PhD in Geography with a focus on urban forest inventory using hyperspectral imagery and lidar. After a boreal forest postdoc at NASA Goddard\, he has a foot back in the urban realm focusing on urban tree response to heat and the potential for urban trees to cool their surroundings.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChanges from Previous Years\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2022 event will be a hybrid in-person/virtual experience.
