DESCRIPTION:Come pick up your reserved trees from the Cedar Rapids Fall 2022 Tree Adoption! Trees will be located at the Veterans Memorial Stadium parking lot\, 950 Rockford Road SW\, Cedar Rapids. Haven’t reserved your trees yet? Click here to visit the tree adoption shop! Please pick up your trees during your chosen time slot to help avoid traffic and long lines. You can find your time slot on your email receipt from purchase (hint: search for “Trees Forever” in your email account). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe pick-up process will be contactless. We ask that you remain in your vehicles. Volunteers will direct your vehicle to your trees and assist with loading your trees and planting information. TREES MAY BE WET FROM THE RAIN OR WATERING – we recommend laying a towel if you are loading inside a vehicle. Some tree species come larger than expected from the nursery. Please have your vehicle prepared to load the trees (seats folded in SUV’s and vans\, truck bed covers folded back).

DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the Wright Foundation for Sustainability and Innovation\, an anonymous donor and countless individual donations\, Trees Forever and local partner Nevada Parks and Recreation are hosting a free tree distribution to help grow and strengthen the local tree canopy!Trees are free to anyone living in a Derecho affected county. The giveaway will take place on October 18\, 2022 in the parking lot west of the Aquatic Center\, 1717 Fawcett Parkway\, Nevada IA. from 4 to 7 pm. Five species (Red Oak\, Swamp White Oak\, Hackberry\, Sycamore\, and Kentucky Coffeetree are available on a first-come\, first served basis. There is a limit of two trees per vehicle. For those living outside Nevada and arriving from Hwy 30\, take the 19th street exit (McDonald’s\, Caseys) north to Fawcett Parkway\, and follow the signs.Trees provide countless benefits to homeowners including lower heating and cooling costs\, increased property values and aesthetic beauty. These trees are in 3-gallon containers and will be roughly 2-5 feet in size. Studies have shown that smaller trees quickly catch up to larger ones planted at the same time because of a shorter period of establishment and tend to be healthier overall.We are so excited to provide trees to private residents! Vernon\, Iowa and the importance of having a biodiverse and robust community of trees in urban areas. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe purpose of this program is to advocate for increasing tree canopy in Iowa through improved community forestry management practices.
