SUMMARY:Creating Butterfly Havens: The Power of Planting and Citizen Science Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Butterflies call home where the plants are\, but not just any plant will do. It takes a special mix of host plants\, nectar plants\, and structural plants for protection to create a thriving butterfly habitat. Join Nathan Brockman\, Director of Entomology at Reiman Gardens\, as he dives into the fascinating world of butterflies\, exploring the importance of planting strategies for their survival and movement throughout their environment. Discover the essential role of host plants and nectar sources in attracting and supporting butterfly populations\, and learn how strategic landscaping can provide the necessary conditions for their reproduction and growth. Nathan will also shed light on how you can contribute to our understanding of butterflies in the wild through citizen science programs\, empowering individuals to play a vital role in butterfly conservation efforts. Whether you’re a gardening enthusiast\, nature lover\, or curious citizen scientist\, this webinar offers valuable insights and actionable steps to transform your landscape into a haven for butterflies.
